Timing: Fumigation should preferably be carried out during cooler hours. Early morning applications — and seasonal planning closer to autumn — help support optimal film performance.

Driplines: Placing driplines deeper in the soil, rather than near the surface, helps reduce direct exposure of the film to fumigation gases and improves overall system efficiency.

Low-flow drip systems: Low-flow systems allow better control and more uniform gas distribution in the soil profile, reducing gas concentration near the film surface.

Soil conditions: Soils with very low moisture levels (below field capacity) or low organic matter content may increase stress on polyethylene films. Maintaining balanced soil moisture and adequate organic matter helps protect the film, improve durability, and support consistent fumigation results.
